Attending the meeting were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Dao Thanh Truong - Vice President of the university, representative of the Cooperation and Development Department, the Scientific Research Department, the Training Department and many faculties and branches of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
At the meeting, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Dao Thanh Truong said the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has a long tradition, a leading position in research and training in the social sciences and humanities in Vietnam. The University of Social Sciences and Humanities is implementing the strategic goal of developing as a research university, continuing to affirm its leading position in research and training in the social sciences and humanities of Vietnam, striving towards the group of 150 leading universities in Asia by 2025.
In the past year, Vietnam National University, Hanoi has recognized 01 key research center and 04 strong research groups of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities as a strong research group at Vietnam National University, Hanoi. This is VNU's recognition and investment in scientific and technological research activities of VNU-USSH - the leading university in training high-quality human resources. In particular, the Institute of Policy and Management (IPAM) under the University of Social Sciences and Humanities continues to be recognized as a key research center at the level of Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
Vice President Dao Thanh Truong emphasized that cooperation with international universities is a growing trend in order to contribute to realizing the goal of becoming an advanced research university in the region and the world. In particular, the cooperation with universities in Thailand is always an important goal of the school in training and scientific research.
Thammasat University and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities have signed many MOUs over the years and have achieved great success, especially in aspects such as student exchange, faculty exchange and scientific research. The newly signed MOU is expected to lay the foundation for raising the cooperation relationship between the two universities to a new level.
Ms. Saifon Su-Indramedhi - Rector of College of Interdisciplinary Science, Thammasat University shared about cooperation opportunities between the two universities.
Rector Saifon Su-Indramedhi shared: The College of Interdisciplinary Science, Thammasat University has 4 campuses and a total of 26 faculties. The college has over 25 years of establishment and development, with a total of 50 teachers, 35 specialists and more than 1,500 students. The College of Interdisciplinary Science, Thammasat University always develops and builds new study programs that are suitable and catch up with the trends of society and is currently the only educational facility in Thailand with a program about Women and Gender.
Within the framework of cooperation and student exchange between the both sides, the College of Interdisciplinary Science, Thammasat University supports exchange and training students at many levels, especially the Data Science program - which is a new program, with high applicability due to general demand worldwide and well received by students in Thailand. Rector Saifon Su-Indramedhi believes that this visit to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is not only a student exchange but also an opportunity for both sides to learn and build a stronger relationship, to join hands in drafting a practical and effective future MOU.
At the end of the working session, Vice President Dao Thanh Truong invited students from the College of Interdisciplinary Sciences, Thammasat University, Thailand to attend a short course (Summer Couse) this August and September. Both sides agreed on a number of terms that need to be further considered in the working sessions and aimed to build incentives and scholarships for students, establish short-term courses in the immediate and future.
