At the meeting, Rector Hoang Anh Tuan and Professor Andrew Hardy reviewed the results of the cooperation between the School of the Far East (EFEO) in Hanoi and USSH in recent years.

EFEO Hanoi has made practical contributions to the introduction of new research trends, viewpoints, and academic schools, thereby contributing to promoting the development of Vietnam's social sciences and humanities in general. USSH has worked closely with EFEO in many academic activities such as: holding research programs on villages in the Red River Delta, organizing seminars on the Red River Delta; holding a seminar on medieval European literature and early-modern Vietnamese literature; introducing Luc Van Tien's trilingual story poem; and organizing exchanges and discussions about academic disciplines between France and Vietnam. These cooperative activities aim to develop Vietnam's social sciences and humanities in the direction of innovation, modernity and international integration.

Speaking to GS. Andrew Hardy, Prof.Dr Hoang Anh Tuan appreciated EFEO for its contributions to the development of Social Sciences and Humanities in Vietnam, as well as that of USSH. The Rector hopes that Prof. Andrew Hardy would continue to facilitate and support the University to train and foster its cadre of young scientists, cooperate in organizing academic seminars and talks, and conducting mutual international research and publishing projects. Prof. Andrew Hardy expressed his honor and commitment to continue connecting the two sides in the coming years.
