1. Date of examination and Date of registration
* USSH will not organize the Vietnamese language proficiency test if the number of candidates is below 30.
2. Times and Location:
- Morning: The test of Listening, Reading, and Writing will take part from 8:00 am to 11:00 am, candidates must present before 7:15 am.
- Afternoon: The test of Speaking will take part from 1:30 pm.
- Location: Block BC, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, 336 Nguyen Trai str, Thanh Xuan Dist, Hanoi, Vietnam.
3. Participants:
Students need to be examined for Vietnamese language proficiency and awarded a Vietnamese language certificate;
a) Having valid registration documents; paying the exam fee and certificate providing fee following the regulation;
b) Not being banned to take part in any examinations following the regulation at point g, clause 2, article 29 in Circular no 27/2021/TT-BGDĐT promulgated on 07/10/2021
4. Exam fee:
4.1. Students who do not study at USSH: 3.800.000 VND
4.2. Students who study at USSH above 60 hour-class within 6 months before the date of examination: 2.500.000 VND
5. Application for registration
- 02 photos size 4x6 (cm) within 6, having name and date of birth at the back of photo.
- Copy of valid passport.
- Application form.
- 01 copy of certificate showing study time at USSH above 60 hour-class within 6 months (if available).
* Noted: Candidates must bring the original personal documents when applying.
6. Places receiving documents:
- Center for Vietnamese language and culture, Room 114, Block A , 336 Nguyen Trai str, Thanh Xuan Dist, Hanoi, Vietnam
- Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Language, B7 Bis, Tran Dai Nghia Str, Back Khoa ward, Hai Ba Trung Dist, Hanoi, Vietnam
* Receiving documents from Monday to Friday, morning: from 8:30 am to 11:30 am; afternoon: from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm.
7. Information
Candidates check the location, list of exam rooms, registration number, and schedule at Website: //oddbark.com/
* Note: Candidates must bring the original valid documents. Those items are not allowed to bring in the exam rooms including: mobile phone, transceivers, smart watches,… Candidates present late after the starting time are not able to do the test.
8. Exam format
• Listening:
- Part 1: Candidates listen to a question or a situation then choose the correct answers.
- Part 2, 3, 4: Candidates listen to a conversation or paragraph then choose the correct answers
*Noted: You only hear once.
• Reading: Including 40 questions, candidates read excerpts and choose the correct answers;
• Writing: Including 3 parts:
- Part 1: Fill in the blanks
- Part 2: Write a letter
- Part 3: Write an essay
• Speaking: Including 3 parts:
- Part 1: Answer the questions
- Part 2: Discuss and choose one of the given answers
- Part 3: Candidates choose a general topic or academic topic and allow to use the available suggestions or individually brainstorm their own ideas (part 3 ends with discussing questions on those above topics)
Noted: Reading, Listening, and Writing will be done on the computer.
9. Results announcement
- Results will be shown at Website: //oddbark.com/ maximum after 5 working-day from the date of examination.
- Grades of Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking, and the average grade are calculated on a scale of 10, rounding the number up to 0,5.
- The final grade is equal to the Vietnamese Language Proficiency for the foreigners’ system as the following:
Noted:
- Grades are not considered converting if the candidate has 1 out of 4 skills having the result below 1.
- Candidates can only have the results converted upto level 2 if 1 out of 4 skills have a result below 3.5
10. Check examination papers
- After the results are announced on the website, if the candidates need to do the checking examination papers results, they will have to submit an application within 7 days with the fee of 100.000 VND/skill at room 207, Block E – Office for Academic Affairs, USSH.
- The results of checking examination papers will be announced no more than 15 days after the first day of receiving the application.
11. Certificate
- The Vietnamese Language Certificate is designed and provided following the regulations of the Ministry of Education. Candidates must bring their passport when going to take the certificate.
- Candidates receive the Vietnamese Language Certificate at the places where they apply the registration.
