Wednesday - 12/06/2024 05:32
This is the content discussed at the 2nd International Scientific Conference on Economics ICE 2024 held on June 8, 2024.
The workshop was organized by Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade in coordination with the Department of Training - Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Tokai University (Japan); Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA); University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU; National Economics University; Quang Ninh University of Industry; Sao Do University; Dong Nai University.
The workshop received 160 articles from domestic and foreign researchers and lecturers. At the workshop, experts discussed current issues in green finance, especially the difficulties that green finance activities face, such as the current global green economy has a relatively low investment rate in sustainable development projects (according to the UNCTAD Investment Report). In addition, experts proposed solutions to develop sustainability to increase the coverage of green finance, creating a premise for Vietnam's sustainable development, striving to reduce carbon emissions to 0% by 2050.
The workshop consisted of three sessions, a plenary session and a session for subcommittees (Finance - Banking Accounting Subcommittee; Marketing Subcommittee; Tourism and Administration Subcommittee).
As the main speaker at the conference, Prof. Tsutomu Inagaki - Former Principal of the School of Tourism (Rikkyo University, Japan), visiting lecturer of the Faculty of Tourism Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, provided a comprehensive perspective on the sustainable development of Japanese accommodation types from the 19th century to the present. Prof. Inagaki believes that in order for Japanese accommodation types to be highly appreciated for their service quality, the Japanese tourism industry has learned and absorbed the quintessence of Western accommodation types, while maintaining and preserving the traditional form of Japanese accommodation.
At the Tourism and Management subcommittee, opinions focused on green consumption behavior of tourists, indicators of sustainable development for urban areas and the motivations for Korean tourists to choose Vietnam as a tourist destination. These topics are especially important for the Vietnamese tourism industry in the context of the post-COVID-19 pandemic when the green consumption trend of customers is focused on and the number of Korean tourists to Vietnam ranks first among international visitors.
The ICE International Scientific Conference on Economics is a bridge between domestic and foreign units with green finance trends, sustainable tourism development, promoting investment in projects and initiatives towards sustainable development goals, and is also a basis for improving the resilience and responsiveness of the economy to changes.
