Support VNU-USSH students and lecturers to exchange academic knowledge and do practical internships at leading universities in Malaysia and 10 foreign universities

That is the affirmation of Mr. Novie Bin Tajuddin, Executive Director of Malaysia Education Global Services (EMGS) Office in a meeting and discussion with representatives of the Board of Directors of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) on April 22.
Vice Rector Dao Thanh Truong was pleased to welcome the delegation of the Malaysian Global Education Services Office and the Malaysian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City to visit the University, and at the same time introduced to the delegation the general information about the school's tradition, position, achievements in training and scientific research, and international cooperation. On that basis, the Vice Principal hoped that the partners would discuss specifically the cooperation opportunities between the two sides and specific programs and activities to support students and lecturers.
Mr. Novie Bin Tajuddin shared: As the agency responsible for promoting Malaysia as an international education hub of choice, EMGS aims to strengthen connections to bring international students to study in Malaysia. Therefore, our visit to VNU-USSH this time hopes to support USSH to have the opportunity to study, participate in internships and practical training at leading universities in Malaysia. At the same time, EMGS will be a bridge to promote dual degree training between VNU-USSH and public universities in Malaysia, as well as with foreign universities with branches in Malaysia. According to current statistics, there are 10 branches of foreign universities in Malaysia, typically: Monash University (Australia), Melangor branch; Nottingham University (UK), Selangor branch; Southhampton University (UK), Johor branch; ...
Representing the Consulate General of Malaysia, Dr. Azriey Bin Mazlan affirmed his readiness to act as a bridge to promote cooperation in the field of education, expand cultural exchanges, and create opportunities for Vietnamese students to study in an international environment. According to the Consul, Malaysia's education system is developing strongly, attracting many international students, including Vietnam, because of its good training quality, accredited schools and high rankings on rankings such as QS Ranking, Times Higher Education (THE) ... and living expenses and tuition fees are quite low compared to other countries in Asia, so they are very suitable for Vietnamese students.
In response to the proposals from Malaysia, Associate Professor, Dr. Dao Thanh Truong and representatives of the Training Department shared information about successful cooperation programs between VNU-USSH and European partners (Erasmus+ international credit exchange program), with Chinese universities (implementing joint training programs with 3+1, 2+2 models on training programs in Tourism Studies and Cultural Studies); short-term exchanges. In addition, every year, hundreds of international students come to VNU-USSH to study, research and participate in summer courses to learn about Vietnamese history and culture, etc. In 2024, the school plans to send 500 students for academic exchange, internships and practical training in countries in the region: China, Thailand, Korea, Japan, etc. Therefore, the above proposals of the EMGS leadership representatives as well as the Malaysian Consulate are practical, feasible, providing more opportunities for VNU-USSH students to experience an international learning environment.

At the end of the meeting, the two sides agreed that the Malaysian Education Global Services (EMGS) and VNU-USSH would sign a cooperation document as a legal framework for specific activities. EMGS committed to strengthening connections and sharing information about scholarship programs for international students and lecturers of universities in Malaysia for a large number of VNU-USSH students.
