The Korea Foundation prioritizes strengthening the team of experts in Korean Studies training at VNU-USSH

This information was confirmed by a representative of the Korea Foundation, South Korea, during a meeting with the leadership of VNU-USSH on the afternoon of August 12, 2024.

At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Hoàng Anh Tuấn expressed his appreciation for the cooperation between VNU-USSH and the Korea Foundation over the years, especially in the implementation of Korean Studies training. With the support of the Korea Foundation, the Korean Studies program has always been well-invested and developed. The university hopes to continue receiving the Foundation’s support in promoting Korean Studies as well as other social sciences and humanities.
Attending the meeting, Mr. Woo Hyoung Min, Director of the Korea Foundation, Hanoi Office, expressed his honor at the warm reception from the Board of Directors and representatives of various departments of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. He also emphasized that VNU-USSH is the first university he visited at the beginning of his new term in Vietnam."

Affirming the achievements and leading position of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU in training and research in the field of social sciences and humanities, as well as being one of the two prestigious institutions for Korean language and culture training in Vietnam, Mr. Woo Hyoung Min emphasized that the Korea Foundation will strive to accompany the university in training and research activities. In the near future, the Korea Foundation will prioritize strengthening the team of Korean Studies experts in the training of Korean culture and language at the Faculty of Oriental Studies, VNU-USSH, continue to cooperate in improving the lecture hall facilities and the Korea Studies room of the university, support the publication of scientific works, and organize events on Korean culture at VNU-USSH
VNU-USSH and the Korea Foundation will sign a second Cooperation Agreement, affirming the deep and effective relationship between the two organizations over the years.

With over 30 years of cooperation between Vietnam and South Korea, the government and organizations of South Korea have provided significant collaboration, companionship, and support in the field of education in Vietnam. For the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, the government and organizations, businesses of South Korea, especially the KF - Samsung scholarship fund, have established comprehensive cooperation in all fields, such as supporting the construction of facilities for teaching and learning at VNU-USSH, and coordinating the organization of workshops that have brought many good results for students.
Notably, KF - Samsung has provided valuable scholarships for students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, creating opportunities for them to develop their personal abilities and serve their studies well. In 2023, KF - Samsung awarded 15 scholarships to 6 students of the QH-2020-X cohort in the Korean Studies program, 4 students of the QH-2021-X cohort in the Korean Studies program, and 5 students of the QH-2022-X cohort in the Korean Studies program, each scholarship worth 250 USD
