Vice Rector of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Dr. Nguyen Anh Thu, along with leaders and experts from the Faculty of Dentistry, welcomed the delegation from VNU-USSH and introduced the facilities and equipment of the dental clinic.
Speaking at the meeting, Prof. Dr. Trinh Dinh Hai - Head of the Faculty of Dentistry, introduced the model, achievements and international integration activities of the Faculty in the past time, and proposed a direction for consulting and supporting the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in the program "School Dentistry" for lecturers and students of the University. Accordingly, the program is expected to be held for the first time at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in August 2024, first of all aiming to provide free consultation on oral health for more than 2,300 new students of K69 of the University in the new school year; the program also aims to examine and treat more than 80 disabled students studying at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities for free.
According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Luong Ngoc Khue - Vice Chairman of the National Medical Council, Former Director of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management (Ministry of Health), this is a humanitarian activity connecting and spreading the spirit of serving the community, reflecting the policy and results of the Project on developing the Vietnamese Dentistry sector to 2030 - 2045 (prevention and treatment) for 20 million students, university students and the elderly in Vietnam. The "School Dentistry" cooperation program between the University of Medicine and Pharmacy and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is an activity to implement the Law on Health Care and School Health; develop the capacity and reputation of the two training units in the Vietnam National University, Hanoi; promote and make the most of the facilities and high professional capacity of the teaching staff; is a practical basis and realization of scientific research in the medical field of the school; is a plan to develop the Faculty of Dentistry in particular, and the Medical and Pharmaceutical sector in general in the current context.
Also within the framework of the working session and cooperation agreement between the two schools, Dr. Nguyen Thi Anh Thu - Vice Rector of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy proposed that the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language, University of Social Sciences and Humanities coordinate to implement a program to teach Vietnamese language and Vietnamese culture for Indian graduate students in 4 master's training programs at the University from the 2024-2025 academic year. Dr. Le Thi Thanh Tam - Head of the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language, committed to implementing a suitable professional roadmap for about 40 Indian students, preparing well the program to continue teaching cooperation for students from India in the following years.
Principal Hoang Anh Tuan expressed his joy and gratitude to the University of Medicine and Pharmacy for the humanitarian cooperation projects in the field of school health of the University. Professor Hoang Anh Tuan also affirmed the direction of sustainable cooperation between the two schools in teaching Vietnamese language and Vietnamese culture for Indian students and trainees. The cooperation prospects of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the University of Medicine and Pharmacy contribute to creating a valuable and practical interdisciplinary and interconnected development model in the network of member schools of the Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
